The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the overall engagement and administration of the Mes Amis Canada Volunteer Program and is the primary liaison for all volunteer activities.
The manager will help determine the volunteer staffing needs required to meet the goals of each project and will develop and execute a recruitment strategy for volunteers.
He / she will interview potential volunteers and review police record checks as required, and will run all volunteer information and schedule events. In consultation with members of the Mes Amis Canada team, the volunteer manager will create a volunteer schedule for each project to ensure operational needs are met and will develop required materials, including any written material and correspondence.
This position will require work on evenings and weekends during project times.
The role will require between 5- 15 hours of work per month depending on projects. (Hours may vary depending on projects.)
Fluency in English both written and spoken
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and tact
Previous experience with volunteers in a Non Profit or Charity
Well organized and able to co-ordinate a variety of projects/activities simultaneously
Ability to evaluate and manage priorities
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Flexibility and availability to work within an irregular schedule, including weekdays and weekends
